One Man Two Guvnors

Last week I went to see the hugely successful and immensely popular One Man Two Guvnors in London's glitzy Adelphi theatre. It is a massive sold out show and soon to transfer to Broadway but I thought it was pretty meh!.
Admittedly I wasn't feeling too great and tried to change my ticket and even give it away without success and not wanting to waste it I went along. I could have done with a laugh and the audience were wetting themselves in hysterics but I managed to just give a couple of chuckles and didn't really see what all the fuss was about.

Set in Brighton in the 60's, the sets were great and very authentic, it was a slapstick farce whereby the One Man had to keep his two Guvnors apart so they didn't know he was doing 2 jobs. It was very panto and a bit of a 70's situation comedy with lots of audience participation and very obvious lame jokes. The main laughs came from an 80 year old waiter who played his part really well and was funny but it was ripped off completely from Victoria Wood's "2 Soups" sketch.

I am assuming it was me as the laughter was deafening and I won't spoil it for anyone but I saw through everything totally and didn't quite fall for the big joke which caused a massive stir in the audience. Maybe I just don't have a normal sense of humour.
